At DSB International School we create moments to celebrate our students learning. One way is through our sharing assemblies. During these assemblies, each class shares their newly acquired knowledge with their fellow students and parents.
During today's Year 5&6 Sharing Assembly, our students performed a version of the German play ‘Hansel and Gretel’ by Brothers Grimm which they cleverly interspersed with their learning from across the curriculum, for example, Geography, Science, Music, Maths and Literacy. The children shared weather reports on China, poetry, orrery's (models of the solar system), biscuits made in cooking club and a song. The Maths demonstration was a highlight of the morning as the students confronted their parents with tricky division calculations, which they had to solve using a range of written methods.
Following the assembly, parents were invited to celebrate their child's work and have an informal chat with the teachers.
The celebrations are integral to our values and strengthen the sense of community at DSB International School.
