It's been a fantastic start to our collaborative music project with Dharavi Rocks, a musical ensemble made up entirely of recycledinstruments.  Years 5/6 visited the Acorn centre in Dharavi this week, exploring rhythms on materials such as bottles and water drums with the Dharavi musicians, all slum children and rag pickers from the local area.  After seeing a brilliant example of a recycled string instrument they had made, it was our turn to  investigate ideas further. We're excited to host Dharavi Rocks next month back at school and to share our new instruments with them!
