As part of the International Award for Young People DSB students went on a trek to challenge themselves and explore the natural world around them. This time DSB students and staff enjoyed a stunning 12km trek through the verdant hills of the western ghats up to the fort of Sagargad. The walk afforded spectacular views of waterfalls, wooded valleys and eventually as we reached the cliff at the end of the walk, a sweeping view of the Maharashtra coastline. Allegedly the pinnacle cliff was used by the local Marata warlord for throwing his enemies to their deaths. Fortunately no such untimely end befell any of the members of our happy band, and after a long hot day we all collapsed on the coach and slept most of the way back to Mumbai.
